VisibilyRanking vs AthenaHQ (2026): which GEO platform closes the loop?

AthenaHQ is an action-oriented GEO platform with credit-based plans. VisibilyRanking adds AI crawler logs and gap-driven content to prompt tracking. A fair comparison of both.

AthenaHQ is one of the stronger tools in this category, and we'd rather say that up front. It was built by former Google Search and DeepMind engineers, it leans hard into action (an Action Center with assignable tasks, automated schema and entity tagging), and it publishes its pricing. If you're comparing it with VisibilyRanking, you're already looking at two platforms that try to do more than count mentions.

So the useful question isn't which one is "better". It's which parts of an AI search program each one covers, and how you pay for it. AthenaHQ details below come from its public pricing and product pages as recorded in our tool notes. Check the live pages before you buy, since plans in this space change often.

The quick verdict

AthenaHQ suits execution-focused teams who will work an action queue every day and are comfortable with credit-based billing. VisibilyRanking is the better fit if you also need to see AI crawler activity on your site and want content drafts generated from specific prompts you're losing, without tracking credits.

Pricing and packaging

AthenaHQ has three published tiers:

  • Essential (free): $25 free credit, 300 credits, unlimited users, prompt and response analysis, and the Athena AI agent.
  • Starter ($295/mo): 3,600 credits where one credit equals one AI response, 11 models, unlimited topics, prompts, and competitors, country-level support, CSV export, and a content optimization agent. API access and extra credits are paid add-ons.
  • Enterprise (custom): the Athena Citation Engine, SAML and OIDC SSO, audit log, multi-region and multi-language support, persona targeting, BI dashboards, and white-glove setup.

The credit model is worth thinking through. Because every AI response uses a credit, your monthly allowance depends on how many prompts you run, on how many models, and how often.

VisibilyRanking doesn't publish a price list. Plans are scoped on the demo by the number of brands, prompts, and markets you track and quoted in writing before you commit. That's less convenient if you want a number today. The upside is that the quote is built around your actual prompt set rather than a credit estimate.

Prompt tracking and personas

AthenaHQ's Starter plan is country-level, and persona targeting plus multi-region support sit on Enterprise. VisibilyRanking groups prompts by topic, persona, and country from the start, across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, Meta AI, and Google AI Overviews. For brands selling in several markets, that difference shows up quickly.

Acting on the data

This is AthenaHQ's home ground. Its Action Center turns findings into tasks you can assign, and automated schema and entity tagging handles some of the technical work at scale.

VisibilyRanking approaches action through its content agent. When you're missing from an answer, it drafts the page that would fix it: a comparison page, an answer block, or a refresh of a page that ranks in Google but never gets cited. Drafts land in a review inbox before they go to your CMS. Teams that want a to-do list may prefer AthenaHQ's style. Teams that want the draft itself tend to prefer ours.

AI crawler logs

AthenaHQ does not publish an AI crawler-log product, so you can't see GPTBot, ClaudeBot, or PerplexityBot requests or the errors they hit. VisibilyRanking reads those logs from your CDN or host. We consider this the most underrated check in AI search: a blocked path or a 404 on a key page keeps you out of answers no matter what the content says.

Attribution

Both tools connect AI visibility to business results, in different ways. AthenaHQ lists GA4, Shopify, and Webflow revenue attribution. VisibilyRanking uses a small script or tag manager snippet to tag visits from AI engines and follow them to signups and sales. If you live in Shopify, AthenaHQ's integration is a genuine plus.

Who should pick which

Choose AthenaHQ if you want a free way in, a daily task queue, schema automation, and you're fine managing credits.

Choose VisibilyRanking if you want the crawler side covered, personas and markets from day one, and content drafts tied to the prompts you're losing. Book a demo and we'll show both views on your category.
